The Cross Lanes Christian School Fine Arts Department exists to help students realize the beauty of creative processes utilizing the abilities God has endowed within each individual. Realizing that some students are naturally gifted with different creative abilities, the Fine Arts faculty seeks to further develop the skills of each individual no matter the entering level of ability. At this time the CLCS Fine Arts Department offers classes or opportunities in the following areas:
General Music Class: K5, 1st, 2nd, & 3rd grades
General Music Class & Elementary Choir: All 4th & 5th grade students
Junior High Choir: All 6th, 7th & 8th grade students
Senior High Choir: Elective for 10th, 11th & 12th grade students
Private Piano Lessons: available to all CLCS elementary, middle and high school students ½ hour weekly during the school day.
Art Exploration Class: All 6th, 7th & 8th grade students
Senior High Art: Elective for 10th, 11th & 12th grade students
Drama / Speech:
Senior High Speech: 1 credit requirement during 10th, 11th or 12th grade year
Junior High Choric Speaking: extra curricular activity during school day
Senior High Choric Speaking: extra curricular activity during school day available for ½ credit per year
The CLCS Fine Arts faculty highly encourages students to participate in classical studies, private lessons, and experiential involvement in imaginative, aesthetic, or intellectual content by the masters of drama, rhetoric, art and music.
